About Blueroad Press

The Blueroad Reader is a collaborative publishing enterprise featuring regional writers and artists whose works in some way, shape, or form reflect the many variations of travel across landscapes real and imaginary, now and then. All genres—including fiction, poetry, journalism, creative non-fiction, memoir, and slices of life—are featured in The Reader, which will be produced semi-annually; Stardust and Fate is the first volume in the series. Blueroad Press also plans to publish books by individual writers and artists.

The Blueroad Reader springs from two earlier periodicals that John published: Willow Avenue Review, a literary arts journal in the early 1980s based in Eugene, Oregon, and The Minnesota Times, a later statewide newspaper covering politics, environment, and the arts in the Gopher State. A former newspaper reporter and editor, John has taught journalism at Minnesota State University, Mankato, for the past twenty years. He serves as editor and publisher of Blueroad Press.

Abbey received her undergraduate degree in English from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, and recently earned a master’s in book publishing from Portland State University. She is Blueroad’s associate editor and marketing director.
